IKEA has released a preview of the 2012 catalogue and we took advantage of it to show you a glimpse of what is to come from the Swedish furniture giant. Expressing their love for small spaces, the IKEA team offers many great ideas to maximise the use of space in small apartments. Under the idea that “a home doesn’t need to be big, just smart“, we join IKEA for a little preview into their 2012 catalogue. From bookshelves anchored across the top of a window – presented on the cover of the catalogue – to a multitude of storage solutions and colourful furniture items, IKEA has something for everyone. Small ideas for a small apartment – that’s how IKEA plans to overcome the growing concern for small urban apartment’s interior design. Comprising ideas like modern bunk beds, wall storage, two chaise-longues in the middle of the living room instead of a sofa along the wall or walk-in-closets for small bedrooms, IKEA turns small spaces into cosy heavens. “With foldable, flexible, stackable, movable and climb-up-on-top-able furniture, a small room can transform into whatever you need it to be.” The love for small spaces is accentuated by the low living costs, cosiness and convenience in an urban society and new ideas are always welcomed. The other important features of the IKEA 2012 catalogue found on Apartment Therapy is the collection of vibrant furniture in trendy colours, as you can see in the pictures below: grey, purple, beige, green and bold contrasts can transform your home into a comfortable, young-spirited space to enjoy with friends and family. Same price/quality ratio keeps IKEA on top and the team’s innovative solutions and trendy colour palette extends their influence on residential interior design.
