Oded & Elizabeth Tal Architects completed an impressive contemporary residence in Tel Aviv, Israel. Here is the information we received from the project developers: “The house was built on a beautifully sloping site, on a hilltop overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, in a suburb north of Tel Aviv, Israel. In order to give all spaces within the house views to the sea, the house was built along the length of the road at the top of the site, leaving the western half of the site for the pool and garden areas. Glass walls open the rooms of the ground floor to the outdoor living space, which is elemental to living in a climate with nine months of summer. A built-in hot tub and full outdoor kitchen facilities make entertaining around the pool a year round pleasure. The house is comfortably modern, built with highly insulated walls and double glazed windows to protect from days of extreme heat. The roof is finished with grey zinc paneling. The exterior is punctuated by pillars of volcanic stone from the Galilee Sea area which support the exposed wood roof structure and pergola painted in creamy white. Interior furnishings were imported from Italy for a clean contemporary look to complement the sculptural glass and steel stairway to the gallery above the salon. Within the house are five en-suite bedrooms plus a master suite on the top floor within the sloping roof. In the basement are a home cinema, spa and staff quarters to assure personal pampering”.
