Skills and Passion for Architecture: Home in Sri Lanka by Channa Horombuwa

We were impressed by a project that was sent to us all the way from Sri Lanka, from architect Channa Horombuwa. This highly modern crib stands out due to a distinguished and well personalized design. The residence has a fresh, homey feel, despite its seemingly lack of private spaces. Here is the official description from the project developer: “This is a four- bedroom three storied contemporary minimalist house  designed for a family of five. All bedrooms have been located in upper levels leaving more space for the Living, Dining and Pantry which open out to a bigger garden space. All internal and external walls including external balustrades are entirely white painted  while the marble & timber floors together with the  furniture add subtle colour variation to the internal spaces. The floating steel & timber staircase acts  as a feature of the house and continues upto the top most level across the double height“. We really love it when we receive projects outside Europe and USA, as some of them bring some really interesting design approaches. If you have a project that you would like featured on Freshome, don’t hesitate to contact us.
